The ElCapitano Wing Series is a new range of hydrofoils designed to enhance your riding experience, focusing on speed, glide, predictability, and ease of getting the wingtip out of the water.

Inspired by the success of the medium aspect ratio Flight Attendant wings, E:CAPITANO wings combine the best features of this design with a higher aspect ratio concept. Created for intermediate and advanced riders, the ElCapitano series offers high performance and versatility.

Whether aiming for speed with the 575 model, linking waves with the 995, or enjoying a smooth downwind ride with the 1395 – the ElCapitano wings are ready for various riding styles.

The wing shape and twist maximize lift in the center, improving efficiency through optimized distribution. This ensures a very good lift-to-drag ratio across all sizes. The new profile allows for wings to perform well over a wide speed range while maintaining a low stall speed.

Wings with a higher aspect ratio provide great speed and glide, while a lower load at the wingtips allows them to move through the water’s surface without causing ventilation.

The wing profile is designed to distribute pressure evenly across the upper and lower surfaces, reducing the risk of lift loss.

Slightly upward-curving wingtips minimize the risk of ventilation when in contact with water, enhancing control even in critical situations.

All features are balanced to provide a smooth, predictable, and high-performance riding experience.

Inspired by the success of the mid-aspect ratio Flight Attendant wings, the E:CAPITANO wings incorporate some of the most effective design elements into a higher aspect ratio collection. Designed for both intermediate and advanced riders, the ElCapitano series delivers high performance and shreddability. Whether you’re breaking speed records on the 575, linking more waves on the 995, or gliding effortlessly downwind on the 1395, ElCapitano wings are for you.

The outline shape and wing twist maximize lift in the center of the wing, gaining efficiency from its tapered lift distribution. This delivers an exceptional lift-to-drag ratio across all wing sizes. These key features, coupled with the new section profile, also allow the wings to operate at a wide range of speeds and maintain a low stalling speed.

This gives the higher aspect wings the best speed and glide for the surface area, but also, with the reduced wingtip loading, allows the wingtips to cut through the water surface without ventilating the rest of the wing. As aggressive wing-out turns are an exhilarating part of any foiler’s progression and predictability in these critical turns is paramount, we focused strongly on key design features to ensure the best and smoothest wing-out turns. Many of these elements have been inspired by the Flight Attendant’s success and optimized into a higher aspect ratio design.

The section is designed with precision to disperse pressure along both upper and lower surfaces of the wing, eliminating the concentration of suction pathways that can disrupt lift.

The curved up wingtips: When a wingtip encounters the water surface, the angle at which they meet is critical to the likelihood/severity of ventilation. Curved up wingtips facilitate a steeper wing-surface angle upon contact with the water, significantly reducing the risk of ventilation – whether you’re pushing the limits or inadvertently breaching a wingtip.

Each characteristic has been carefully harmonized to create a high-performance wing that thrives on pushing boundaries while maintaining a smooth, predictable feel.
